Although it may seem simple to fix little things around your house, the fact of the matter is that there are a few professionals who really do work hard to make your life better. For instance, while you may be likely to paint your place on your own, even doing something as simple as switching out a toilet can be really challenging. I started thinking about how valuable professionals like plumbers were for my business, and I wanted to start a new blog that centered around how much a plumber can help to make your life better. If the drain in your kitchen sink has decided that it's going to slow down, it can cause you all kinds of problems. You don't realize how much you use the kitchen drain until it doesn't work all that well anymore. If you want to make sure that the drain starts working well and fast again, there are things that you can do to try and speed it up again.
Vinegar and Baking Soda
One of the things you can try is the classic vinegar and baking soda combination. If you are going to do this, you will also want to boil up some water to use. The first thing you should do is make sure that you don't have any standing water in the sink because that will make it harder for the vinegar and baking soda to work. Once there is no water in the sink and the drain is as clear as possible, it's time for you to start with the baking soda. Use a funnel so that you can pour baking soda into the drain easier. After you do that, pour in the vinegar and put something over the drain so that all the bubbles and gas that get produced go down the drain. You don't have to use white vinegar if you don't have any, most any kind of vinegar will work. Let it sit for a few minutes, then pour some boiling water down the drain to see if it's working better.
Plumber
Another option is to just go straight to the professionals. Let them come and clean out your drain for you. They can do this by running light and special tools down through your train. The tool will act like a brush and will scrape the gunk that has built up on the sides of your pipe right off your pipes. That will open it back up and speed your drain back up. The plumber may also need to take apart parts of your drain in order to clean it out so that it won't be slow anymore.
If you are stuck with a slow drain in your kitchen, there are several things that you can do to get it to start draining at its usual speed. Some of these things are things you can do on your own, other things you are going to need to have a plumbing company come do for you.
