Although it may seem simple to fix little things around your house, the fact of the matter is that there are a few professionals who really do work hard to make your life better. For instance, while you may be likely to paint your place on your own, even doing something as simple as switching out a toilet can be really challenging. I started thinking about how valuable professionals like plumbers were for my business, and I wanted to start a new blog that centered around how much a plumber can help to make your life better. Check out this website for tips on finding a talented plumber.

While some commercial water heaters are massive, the heater in your restaurant is probably more in line with what you see in large homes. A commercial water heater tank is usually larger and it often has more power so it can heat water faster. In the case of a restaurant, your water has to be made hot enough to sanitize the dishes.
Your restaurant depends on hot water, so it is an emergency when your water heater fails and needs to be repaired. Here are some possible causes and fixes for a commercial water heater that doesn't get the water hot.
Problems With A Thermostat
You can set the desired temperature of your water with the thermostat, and if the water heater doesn't respond, the problem could be with the thermostat. There might be loose wiring or worn-out parts. A plumber can check the thermostat in your heater with an electrical meter, and if it's bad, the thermostat can be pulled out and replaced. A properly working thermostat is essential to making hot water and also for safety reasons so the water doesn't get too hot.
Heating Elements Are Bad
If your restaurant has an electric water heater, the water is warmed up by heating elements. If one or both of the elements go bad, then they can't get your water warm enough. The plumber will probably test why an element isn't working. The element itself can be bad, and if so, it needs to be replaced with a new one.
However, each element has a thermostat, so it's possible the element isn't working due to trouble with electronic parts, safety mechanisms, or the thermostat, so the plumber has to troubleshoot the water heater and make all the necessary repairs to get your heater back in service fast.
The Gas Burner Is Dirty
If your restaurant has a gas water heater, the problem might be with the burner. If the burner is dirty and can't ignite, then your water won't heat up. Problems with the ignition and burner system can be fixed by cleaning, repairing, or replacing parts. The plumber may also check the gas supply lines to verify the heater is receiving an adequate supply of gas and that there are no leaks anywhere.
The Tank Has Sediment Buildup
Sediment buildup can be prevented if you have your plumber flush the tank as often as they recommend. If the tank isn't flushed out occasionally, hard water scale builds up in the tank and interferes with the tank's ability to heat water. This problem can usually be fixed by flushing out all the water so the sediment flows out. Once the tank is filled with water, the heater should function normally again if sediment was the only problem.
