Finding A Talented Plumber

Although it may seem simple to fix little things around your house, the fact of the matter is that there are a few professionals who really do work hard to make your life better. For instance, while you may be likely to paint your place on your own, even doing something as simple as switching out a toilet can be really challenging. I started thinking about how valuable professionals like plumbers were for my business, and I wanted to start a new blog that centered around how much a plumber can help to make your life better. Check out this website for tips on finding a talented plumber.

Causes Of A Dishwasher Drain Clog

by Vernon Elliott

If you see water leaking from your dishwasher, you will likely open it up and find that the device has inches of water in the bottom of it. When this happens, it typically means that there is a clog in the system somewhere, and until this clog is fixed, you will not be able to drain this device or use it. To get this problem fixed, you would need to hire a plumber for help. The plumber will check the following things as these are the things that cause dishwasher drain clogs.

The filter is clogged

Almost all dishwashers have a filter inside, and the purpose of the filter is to stop debris from entering the hose and getting into the plumbing pipes. This filter is good at doing its job; however, it can become trapped with debris over time. If this occurs, the filter would prevent water from entering through it. If water cannot get through, water would not be able to drain from your appliance, and you would have to get the problem fixed before you could use it again.

The hose is clogged

Your dishwasher also has a hose on it, and this hose is the part that allows the water to exit the appliance and enter the drainpipe. If debris made it past the filter, the debris would end up in the hose and could clog it. When this occurs, the system would not be able to drain. Fixing a clogged filter or a clogged hose is typically not hard to do, and many people are able to do this on their own. If you cannot do it yourself, you can hire a plumber.

The drainpipe is clogged

The only other thing that could be wrong with the dishwasher is a clogged drainpipe. In most cases, sinks and dishwashers use the same drainpipe to transfer used water out of the home. When there is a clog in the drainpipe, it too can stop a dishwasher from draining, and the only solution for this is to get the drainpipe cleaned. A plumber can locate the clog in your system if this is the problem and can use equipment to clear the line and remove the clog. Once this is done, your dishwasher should drain just fine.

For a dishwasher to drain, these things must be clear and free of clogs. If you are currently having problems with your dishwasher, contact a plumber that offers drain-cleaning services.
